The challenges we face here in Manalapan are too complex for a “Business As Usual” approach. We need new ideas. The incumbents may be nice people, but they appear to believe that the status quo is fine.

Spoiler alert: it’s not.

Plan & Deploy Solar Energy Infrastructure

New Jersey is planning its clean energy future. We want Manalapan to lead. Larry has been arguing for offshore wind power since 2005. Bashir installed a solar array on Healthcare Training Institute he founded in Union, NJ. Gov. Murphy is building 3 gigawatts in the ocean east of Atlantic City. That will be good for all of us.

With Solar Power on public properties, and batteries (when they are ready) we can strengthen and secure our electrical supply and “harden” the grid. An added bonus will be emergency shelters with power during blackouts.

Open Government open to New Ideas

It’s is time for a change, for open discussion of new ideas. All current members of the Governing Body are Republicans. Some have been there – it seems like forever. It’s time for new, diverse voices and fresh ideas.

Beyond Manalapan

Bashir and Larry see themselves as part of a blue wave that will wash away the cynicism and corruption of politics as usual in Monmouth County, New Jersey, and the United States. They hope to see Social Security and Medicare preserved, the rule of law strengthened, trust in science to provide answers to questions from COVID-19 to Climate Change, decency and compassion, dignity and respect restored within the public sector and society.
